2026 Mike Lezak Award for Volunteer Service - Joe Reynolds

Congratulations to Joe Reynolds on being named the 2026 Mike Lezak Award for Volunteer Service recipient!

Joe Reynolds

Joe Reynolds was born in Holmes County and moved to Wooster in the fourth grade, later graduating from Wooster High School. After spending time away, he found his way back to Wooster, drawn by the strong sense of community that continues to define the city.

“Wooster works because people are willing to get involved and contribute,” Reynolds said. “Being part of that shared effort means a lot to me.”

Over the years, Reynold’s involvement has grown naturally, becoming a core part of his connection to the community. His work has spanned marketing, events, hospitality, music, and small business, often behind the scenes. While his roles have varied, the common thread has always been people. Wooster is not just where he works but where his relationships, friendships, and sense of purpose live.

Reynolds values showing up when help is needed and taking on whatever role will help an event or organization succeed. For him, community service is less about recognition and more about being reliable, adaptable, and willing to jump in where he can add value.

That mindset led into his involvement with the Wooster Chamber, particularly through the Woosterfest Committee. Woosterfest weekends stand out as a favorite experience, he describes the energy, teamwork, and controlled chaos of everyone pulling together to make something meaningful for the community.

Receiving the Mike Lezak Award is a humbling honor for Reynolds. Much of volunteer work happens without feedback or recognition, making this acknowledgement especially meaningful. He is grateful to be included among past recipients who have quietly and consistently shaped the Wooster community. “Many past recipients set the standard for what showing up and giving back really looks like,” Reynolds said.

Reynolds credits his wife as his greatest source of support and encouragement. Looking ahead, he hopes to continue helping Wooster feel active, welcoming, and connected, whether through events, behind-the-scenes support, or simply showing up when help is needed.

The Mike Lezak Award for Volunteer Service is presented annually to an individual in memory of former Chamber President, Mike Lezak. In recognition of his or her contributions as a Chamber volunteer by actively participating on committees and activities.
