Wooster is a city in Wayne County. The estimated population, in 2005, was 26,500. It is the county seat. The community is in the Eastern Standard time zone. The latitude of Wooster is 40.805N. The longitude is -81.935W. Located in eastern Ohio approximately 50 miles (80km) SSW of Cleveland.

The median household income was $37,400 compared to the national figure of $41,994 based upon 2000 census information.

The racial makeup of the city is 92.59% White, 3.82% African American, 0.26% Native American, 1.54% Asian, 1.07% Hispanic, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.36% from other races and 1.42% from two or more races.
