Legislative Advocacy

The Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce has become the primary resource for businesses to become involved with legislative advocacy. By creating strong relationships with our local, state and federal elected officials we are able to have bipartisan discussions while advocating for a pro-business initiatives. With 800 members our Chamber has gained a great deal of respect at Wooster City Hall, the State House, and the United States Capitol.
  • Coalition for the Support of Business and Jobs - The Chamber’s Political Action Committee is a separate 501c3 organization and comprised of a bi-partisan group of volunteers working to elect pro-business candidates and advocate for pro-business initiatives.

  • Endorsements - Our Chamber has advocated for local initiatives to create business growth as well as for local issues such as library and school levies. We take an active role while respecting the fact that our 800 members represent a variety of political views. When our President and Board of Directors decide we need to endorse an issue it is based on the current and future needs of our business community and the families they employ.

  • Candidates Forums - The Chamber hosts Candidates Forums which are free and open to the public. We have proudly built a tradition in which candidates respond to our business focused legislative agenda. The Chamber has been successful in this mission due to the credibility built by our membership. Invited candidates are familiar with our Chamber as we work with them year round.
